La fétuque est une graminée très rustique por son adaptabilité, tant aux terrains secs comme humides. De bonne production presque toute l’année, mais spécialement au temps frais. C’est conseillée pour l’implantation de pâturages, dans des zones sèches et conditions dures. Elle a un système radiculaire très développé, et on l’utilise pour la fixation de talus, rives, etc. Elle s’adapte a la plupart de terrains, à l’excéption de sols légers. Une des variétés plus connue c’est la fétuque Fawn, variété alternative, rústique et adaptable avec excellente productivité et haute résistance à la sècheresse.
